Key Account Manager


Reporting to: Business Development Director
Salary Range: £negotiable
Bonus: <20% of base
Location: Oxfordshire / remote (must be willing to travel)


Who we are.

Mixergy are a fast-growth cleantech business who develop smart and connected hot water tanks which enable households to live better, save money, and reduce their impact on the environment. We are re-thinking how hot water is done, using technology to find cost-effective and convenient solutions which help people live more sustainably.

Alongside the mass market deployment of our smart hot water tanks in the UK and overseas, we are also the first to intelligently connect a decentralised, digital network of tanks that can provide flexibility to the grid and support the clean energy transition. As we look ahead to 2030, our goal is to provide a clear path to transition from fossil fuel heating to low and zero carbon alternatives, enabling us to achieve our vision to make hot water cheaper, greener, and better for all.

To support our continuing fast growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and relationship driven business developer who understands the challenges faced by house builders, housing associations and local authorities in delivering net zero solutions.


What you will be doing.

As Key Account Manager you will be a Mixergy evangelist, operating as the primary conduit between Mixergy and some of our most important clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering consistent profitable sales growth through our existing and targeted key account clients.
  • Building multi-level relationships within client organisations in order to best develop our sales and market position.
  • Collaborating with our key accounts to identify and close strategically important projects, identifying and developing new sales channels and opportunities.
  • Achieving ‘trusted advisor’ status with our clients who will rely on you to develop solutions and fix problems.
  • Developing a deep understanding of our Key Accounts’ businesses, understanding how they operate, their challenges and the opportunities that they have for growth.
  • Understanding of a broad range of sales channels (direct, indirect, franchise, consumer, B2B, distribution)
  • Building an effective account plan for each of our key customers.
  • Taking a highly organised and proactive approach to account management.
  • Providing detailed reporting through Salesforce.
  • Supporting the Mixergy sales team with externally facing customer activity where required, including but not limited to sales presentations, support at trade fairs etc.

What are we looking for?

It is likely that the successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in delivering consistent sales growth working with key account clients, managing a varied and sometimes complex workload.
  • An ability to understand and sell technical products. A background in selling product in other sectors such as HVAC, electric vehicles, energy storage, renewables, facilities management, and engineering would be an advantage.
  • A positive, self-motivated, and proactive approach to doing business. You will be a team player who can hit the ground running and quickly build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Great communication and relationship management skills.
  • A genuine passion for clean energy technologies.
  • Experience using CRM systems (ideally Salesforce).
  • A natural inclination to provide best in class customer service and go the extra mile.
