Tank Inspection Guide

Regular inspection of your tank’s safety equipment is easy to do and is recommended by Mixergy to ensure the continued safe operation of the product.

The short guide below details three components that should be inspected.

Check the tundish

The tundish is a small plastic device attached to the pipework of the cylinder. The tundish acts as a break in the pipework that allows you to see the flow of water through the pipe.

Firstly, check the tundish is completely dry and that there is no water dripping through the tundish. If this is not the case, please contact technical support for guidance.

Test the T&P relief valve

The temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve. This is a valve attached to the side of the tank near the top. The T&P valve has a visible red knob on the front.

Give the knob on the front of the temperature and pressure relief valve a turn to test the valve. This should cause water to flow through the tundish.

Check the pressure release valve

The pressure relief valve (PRV). This is a valve attached to the incoming pipework of the cylinder. It generally has a red, blue, or black knob similar to the T&P valve.

Give the knob on the pressure relief valve a turn to test the valve. This should cause water to flow through the tundish.

If no water flows when either of these valves are turned or there is a blockage in the pipework causing the water to spill out of the tundish, please contact technical support immediately.

If you suspect there are any other issues with your tank (low water flow or low water temperature for example) then please give us a call and we will be happy to support you.
