Mixergy iHP X outperforms comparable hot water cylinders

July 30, 2025

Proven performance

In a standard test dwelling scenario, our Mixergy 150L and 210L iHP X models performed exceptionally well across all key energy metrics.

The comparison was based on a 61m² mid floor apartment using direct electric heating with no solar PV.

While every home is different and actual performance will depend on SAP assumptions and methodologies, the results highlight a clear trend: Mixergy cylinders consistently outperform typical alternatives.

SAP Ratings Comparison

Mixergy’s 150L and 210L iHP X cylinders achieved the highest SAP rating of 85 B, ahead of the typical ratings seen in alternative products.

CO₂ Emissions Comparison with Alternative

Our 150L iHP X cylinder also recorded the lowest CO₂ emissions at 0.22 tonnes per year, contributing directly to lower dwelling emissions and helping developers achieve carbon targets.

Outstanding energy efficiency

Efficiency goes beyond compliance. Developers want confidence that their specified systems will help them achieve long-term energy performance for homeowners.

DER to TER Ratio & Primary Energy Efficiency Comparisons

In independent tests, Mixergy cylinders delivered a DER to TER (Dwellings Emission Rate to Target Emission Rate) ratio of up to 62.84 percent, well below regulatory thresholds and ahead of typical alternatives.

They also achieved the lowest Dwelling Primary Energy Rate, just 44.76 kilowatt hours per square metre per year, showing our focus on energy-saving innovation.

Why this matters for developers

Specifying Mixergy cylinders offers developers a range of compelling benefits:

  • Improved SAP scores: Better SAP ratings mean stronger EPC outcomes and greater marketability.
  • Reduced site-wide carbon emissions: Supporting compliance with national and local net zero policies.
  • Future ready design: Mixergy cylinders integrate easily with low carbon technologies such as heat pumps and solar PV, providing flexibility for a range of housing types.
  • Enhanced homeowner appeal: Lower energy bills and smart controls deliver tangible benefits that today’s buyers expect.

Important context on performance data

It is important to note that these results are based on a defined test scenario. Actual performance will vary depending on the SAP assumptions used in individual models. However, the independent assessments confirm a consistent pattern: Mixergy cylinders are a reliable way to improve energy performance, reduce emissions and prepare homes for the future.
