Simulating how the Mixergy tank performs using the Home Energy Dynamics toolkit
The Energy Systems Catapult has simulated the energy performance of Mixergy’s smart hot water cylinders utilising their powerful Home Energy Dynamics toolkit (HED). The HED simulated how the Mixergy tank performs compared to a conventional hot water cylinder in two different scenarios:
- Family of 5
- Elderly couple
The simulation highlighted an energy saving of between 11-14% due to its ability only heat what is needed and optimise when the hot water generated.
These savings are not factoring Mixergy’s machine learning or tariff optimising schedule functions, showing that the savings could be even greater.
