Your Hot Water Cylinder Warranty
Mixergy warrants that your hot water cylinder will be free from manufacturing defects for 25 years from installation. This warranty is both conditional on you complying with your responsibilities and subject to certain exclusions, details of both are set out below. In the event that you have a valid warranty claim (in accordance with these terms), Mixergy will provide you with a like-for-like replacement hot water cylinder.
Your Warranty for Hot Water Cylinder Components
Your hot water cylinder warranty applies just to your hot water cylinder and not the additional components supplied with your hot water cylinder (Hot Water Cylinder Components). Hot Water Cylinder Components include, but are not limited to, heating elements, T&P valve, expansion vessel, plate heat exchanger, pumps, immersion heater, combination valve and electronic parts. Mixergy warrants that your Hot Water Cylinder Components will be free from manufacturing defects for 3 years from the date of installation. This warranty is conditional on you complying with your responsibilities set out below.
Your Responsibilities
In order for your warranty to apply you must do the following:
- You must arrange for your hot water cylinder to be correctly installed and commissioned. You will need to book a qualified installer to install and commission our product. For most of our products, this means that you will use an installer that is trained to install and commission heating and hot water products to meet the current regulations in force at the time you install your product. A list of approved installers is provided on our website. We can discuss this requirement with you further if you contact our customer service team. Your installer will be responsible for correctly installing and commissioning our product and you will need to refer any defects resulting from incorrect installation and commissioning to your installer.
- You must service your hot water cylinder annually. You must be able to evidence that your hot water cylinder has been serviced on an annual basis either through:
- A benchmark service record that has been filled in after each annual service by the installer; or
- Through subscribing to the Mixergy Care Plan or Mixergy Care Plan Plus, whereby the unit has been connected to the online analytics platform through the app and monitored each year since purchase. Further information on the Warranty and Care Plan page.
- Your hot water cylinder must be fed from a public mains water supply.
- For commercial installations only. Where constant usage/reheat is required, Titanium immersion heaters must be fitted in order to comply with the warranty.
- For installations where a plate heat exchanger is supplied with the hot water cylinder only. Where a plate heat exchanger is supplied with your hot water cylinder (for use with heat pumps), your property must be located in a soft water area or your plumbing system must be deployed with a water softener.
What your warranty doesn’t cover
The following actions will invalidate your warranty:
- Modification. If your hot water cylinder has been modified in any way, other than by Mixergy.
- Frost Damage. If your hot water cylinder has been subject to frost damage.
- Misuse. If your hot water cylinder has been misused, tampered with, or subjected to neglect.
- Any Usage other than for the storage of potable water. Your hot water cylinder must only have been used for the storage of potable water.
- Storing water your Tank in temperatures in excess of 65°C.
- Installations outside of the UK and Ireland.
- Any Third Party. The warranty is not transferable and rests with the original householder of the property in which the new tank was installed.
- Uncontrollable heat sources. Your Tank is not suitable to be installed with uncontrollable heat sources (e.g. Wood Burning Stoves).
- Water Supply with a high Chloride content. The water supply does not have a Chloride content greater than 300ppm.
- A Hard Water Supply. The water supply does not have water hardness is greater than 270ppm.
Our warranty only covers replacement of your hot water cylinder, or Hot Water Cylinder Components (as applicable). The following items are not covered:
- Labour costs associated with the replacement of your hot water cylinder or Hot Water Cylinder Components. We only offer the replacement items and not the cost of installation of the replacement parts.
- Consequential Losses. We do not cover any losses which are not directly related to the damage even if these would not have occurred if your hot water cylinder hadn’t had a manufacturing defect. Examples of this include (but are not limited to) missed time off work due to heating or hot water issues, accommodation bills because your heating is not working, damage to your property which results from your heating or hot water not working such as frozen pipes or warped doors.
- Scale build-up. We are not responsible for damage caused to your hot water cylinder by limescale.
